Service Advisory Groups

The Service Advisory Group will be made up of people from the local service providers that either already have a relationship with the community at large or want to gain a connection. This group will be supporting the Community Advisory/Yarning Group when required.

This Service Advisory Group will be structured in a way that raised concerns are dealt with while the individuals involved remain anonymous and just the concerned is discussed and only the spokesperson from the Community Advisory/Yarning Group in attendance.
If a community member who is already engaged with a service wants to participate with transparency, they also have that option. The service member will either take the lead to assist with support or not be part of that ‘Advisory Group’ due to a conflict of interest. This will be at the discretion of the participant.

The Service Advisory Group will keep all members up to date with changes in the community. This will be via; monthly meetings or monthly updates emailed out to all members. This maintains communication, especially if there are times when there are no meetings with representatives from any of the Community Advisory /Yarning Groups.

Due to the sharing of participants between providers, we will be encouraging providers not to work in a silo style of service delivery. This is how we can ensure there is no duplication of services.

The Service Advisory Group will work transparently with the community members that have chosen to be supported by referring them to the appropriate service within the group, if deemed necessary, or provide a referral pathway to access other services outside the Service Advisory Group if required.

It is necessary and important to be able to work collaboratively with other providers outside the Service Advisory Group to ensure support is streamlined for all local participants.
